According to a recent report, Specialty Farms LLC is recalling two of its sprout packs. The move has come in the wake of revelation made by the New York State Department of Agriculture & Markets, that the samples of alfalfas sprout blended products on July 14 had a possible Listeria infection.

The NYS Department notified the Price Chopper Supermarkets and consequently, it removed the sprout products of the Company form the shelves.

The Company is situated in Bridgeport, Connecticut and is a leading northeastern sprout grower. It is reportedly recalling the packs of organic sprout salads and organic alfalfa sprout mixture.

The products of the Company are sold across the stores in Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Vermont, Pennsylvania and New York.

The packages weigh 4-ounce and their sell by date is 7/26/2010. For the alfalfa sprouts the UPC code is 8192400108 whereas for organic sprout salads it is 8192400024.

However, no illnesses have been reported up till now. The affected households are informed regarding the product recall by the Smart Reply system of Price Chopper.

People who have already bought the products have been asked to return them to the shops in order to get the refunds.
