Peru: Exports of fruit grew 41%

Between January and June of 2010, shipments for abroad totaled U.S. $ 293.9 million. The mango is our most demanded fruit.

Between January and June of this year, foreign shipments of fresh and processed fruits totaled $ 293.9 million, surpassing by 41% what was obtained in the same period last year, said the Association of Exporters (ADEX).
The juice and fruit jam, passion fruit, mango and orange, as well as the preserved fruits, mainly mango, were the most demanded.

The main destinations were the Netherlands (33% of the total), United States (24%), Spain (8%), Hong Kong (6%), United Kingdom (6%). Amongst the new markets are South Korea, Morocco, Nauru, Lithuania, Slovenia and Martinique.
